SAN ANTONIO — Freshman Sara Anastasieska scored 10 of her team-high 14 points in the fourth quarter Thursday night, lifting the UTSA women’s basketball team to a 69-64 upset victory over the 25th-ranked UTEP Miners.
An announced crowd of 646 at the Convocation Center watched as UTSA fell behind against the Conference USA regular season champions twice by expansive deficits and then rallied to win.
The Roadrunners (10-18, 6-12) trailed by 12 points in the second quarter and by eight late in the third against the Miners (25-3, 16-2).
But that’s when Anastasieska, a 5-11 freshman from Australia, started to heat up.
