SAN ANTONIO — Skyler Valentine and Tyler Straub stroked three hits and drove in three runs apiece Tuesday night, leading UTSA to a 14-7 victory over the Texas State Bobcats at Roadrunner Field.
With the win, UTSA broke a three-game losing streak heading into a weekend home series against Rice to open the Conference USA portion of the schedule.
Theodore Hoffman homered twice and produced four RBIs for the Bobcats, who had a seven-game winning streak snapped.
UTSA has won four of its last five against Texas State in the I-35 rivalry. The teams play again April 5 in San Marcos.
