SAN ANTONIO — UTEP handed UTSA a 4-1 setback on Saturday at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Miners (9-8) claimed the doubles points with victories at the Nos. 2 and 3 positions in the lineup.
Raven Bennett and Bethan Hayward defeated Lina Hallgren and Charlene Tiwari by a score of 6-3 at the third spot, while Matilda Tench and Lois Wagenvoort downed Sonia Madroñal Medina and Alena Shichkova at the third slot, 6-4.
Miriam Rosell Canudas drew the Roadrunners (7-9) even to start singles play when she cruised past Vivienne Kulicke (UTEP) in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) on center court.
