BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB used four runs in the middle innings to rally past UTSA baseball, 4-2, on Friday night at Young Memorial Field.
UTSA (17-18, 9-11 Conference USA) opened the scoring with a single tally in the second but UAB scored the next four run – including runs in the fourth and sixth and a two-run seventh – to take a 4-1 lead. UTSA cut into the lead with a pair of doubles to open the eighth.
The Roadrunners were led at the plate by two-hit games from senior catcher Nick Thornquist and sophomore Leyton Barry.
