BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB posted a three-set win (17-25, 20-25, 22-25) over UTSA volleyball to open a two-match series that concludes the regular season, on Sunday afternoon.
UTSA (6-11, 4-7 Conference USA) has now been eliminated from contention for the 2021 C-USA Championships, which are slated to take the top four teams from each division. UTSA sits in sixth place in the Western Division, with North Texas owning the fourth and final spot with a 6-6 record. Southern Miss has a 4-6 record in fifth place.
UAB (8-6, 7-4 C-USA) posted its first win over UTSA since 1994, using a 25-17 win in the first, a 25-20 result in the second and a 25-22 win in the third set.
