CORPUS CHRISTI — Liz Carter allowed just two hits and she struck out seven over seven scoreless innings to lead Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to a 2-0 win over visiting UTSA on Tuesday afternoon at Chapman Field.
Kendall Burton and Angelica Niño picked up hits for the Roadrunners, who fell to 6-10 on the season. In the circle, Chelsea Parker got the start and yielded two runs in three-plus innings, while Lizzy Fox tossed three scoreless frames in relief.
Meanwhile, Carter also went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored a run for the Islanders (8-8), who snapped a five-game losing streak.
