SAN ANTONIO — On the heels of the UTSA men's golf program's first NCAA postseason appearance in May, several Roadrunners have enjoyed success on the course this summer.
Three Roadrunners have qualified for the 51st Higginbotham Texas State Open, which will be held on July 27-30 at The Cascades Club in Tyler.
A pair of Roadrunners earned a spot in the tournament after finishing in the top five at a qualifier at Barton Creek's Palmer Lakeside Course on July 6. Michael Rome, a rising senior from Austin, fired a 3-under-par 68 to finish in sole possession of fourth place, while former all-conference selection Sean Meehan won a playoff against fellow former Roadrunner Isaac Idstein to secure the fifth and final qualifying spot after both players carded a 1-under 70.
