Strong second half propels UTSA past Old Dominion on Saturday, 70-67

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA used a strong second half that propelled the Roadrunners past Old Dominion, 70-67, on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.

The Roadrunners (9-18, 5-12 C-USA), who snapped a four-game losing streak, fired 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from the field in the second half and ended the contest with four players in double figures.

Akunna Elonu and Crystal Chidomere each netted 16 points and Elonu grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Carlie Heineman added 12 points and Sara Anastasieska chipped in with 11.

Jennie Simms led Old Dominion with a season-best 39 points, as she finished 10-of-20 from the field and 18-of-21 from the line.
