SAN ANTONIO – After spinning a seven-inning shutout in a win over UT Arlington on Saturday, UTSA baseball senior Shane Daughety has been named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Daughety, a native of Tomball, Texas, worked seven shutout innings in a complete-game outing, allowing just five singles and one walk, striking out a career-best nine. He retired 21 of the 26 hitters he faced and only allowed a runner to reach scoring position twice.
