SAN ANTONIO – UTSA men's tennis freshman Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) has been named the Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
Rodriguez, who last year was named C-USA Freshman of the Year, took down Rice standout and the 2019 C-USA Player of the Year Sumit Sarkar, 6-4, 6-4, in UTSA's season-opening 5-2 win over the Owls on Saturday.
Rodriguez is coming off a season where he went 6-5 in singles and a combined 7-3 in doubles.
