Season’s over for UTSA women as FIU wins 61-56

SAN ANTONIO — No. 14 Florida International rallied in the final 70 seconds to score a 61-56 victory over 11th-seeded UTSA on Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the Conference USA women’s basketball tournament.

With less than two minutes left and UTSA leading by three points, the Panthers outscored the Roadrunners 10-2 in the final 1:10 of the game.

FIU freshman guard Kristian Hudson knocked down a three and scored seven points in the streak.

UTSA’s season is over at 10-19. FIU, at 5-25, will advance to the second round to play Marshall on Wednesday in Birmingham, Alabama.
