SAN ANTONIO — UTSA's Amaya Scott is the top collegian in the women's heptathlon and Jack Turner is in second place in the men's decathlon after the opening day of the Roadrunner Invitational, which got underway Thursday at Park West Athletics Complex.
Scott has scored 3,128 points through the first four events of the seven-event competition that will span two days. The Romsey, England, native is in third place overall behind a pair of unattached competitors in Jordan Gray (3,354) and Lindsay Flach (3,295) and is 229 points ahead of the next closest collegian, Niki Xydona of Grand Canyon (2,899).
