DADE CITY, Fla. — The No. 49-ranked UTSA women's golf team is in a tie for fourth after the opening day of the Conference USA Championship, which teed off Monday at La Jovita Golf & Country Club (par 72/6,267 yards).
On a day that saw a pair of lightning delays totaling approximately two hours, the 11-team field reached the midway point of the 54-hole tournament before the second round was suspended at 5 p.m. CT. Originally scheduled for 18 holes on each of the three days, officials on Sunday decided to start the second round on Monday afternoon.
