SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA soccer team opened the 2021 spring season with a 2-0 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Sunday afternoon at Park West Athletics Complex.
The Roadrunners were on the board at the 12-minute mark with an own goal. Ellis Patterson crossed the ball from the right side to the center of the goal as the ball bounced off an Islander defender and went into the net.
At the 65th minute, Olivia Galvan threw the ball in to Ariana Gomez who then fed the ball to Tara Giesen as she shot from the top of the box found the bottom right corner of the goal to lead 2-0.
