SAN ANTONIO — The Rice Owls made just enough plays on Sunday to claim a 1-0 victory over UTSA in a Conference USA baseball game at Roadrunner Field.
With the win, the Owls (10-9, 2-1) took two out of three in the series from the Roadrunners (10-9, 1-2).
Ryan Chandler scored the only run of the game for Rice in the top of the fourth. With one out, he singled and then, one out later, moved up on a walk.
With runners at first and second, Rice pulled a double steal. The ensuing throw from catcher to third base went into the outfield for an error, allowing Chandler to score the only run.
