SAN ANTONIO — LSU running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson has been offered the UTSA coaching job and is expected to take it, sources said Thursday night.
The 42-year-old Wilson emerged on the ninth day of the search to become the choice for the Roadrunners, said the sources, whose comments mirrored reports on FootballScoop.com and in the Baton Rouge Advocate.
Earlier in the day, Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer had been in serious contention.
But Wilson, regarded as one of the top recruiters in the nation, reportedly fared well in his interview and was given the nod.
