SAN ANTONIO -- UTSA seniors Griffin Paxton and Nick Thornquist have each earned All-Conference USA honors in a voting of the league's stakeholders, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Thornquist, a native of Flower Mound, Texas, became the first UTSA catcher to earn first-team All-Conference USA accolades since John Bormann in 2015. He is one of just three UTSA players – dating back to 1992 – to earn first-team all-conference behind the plate.
A 5-foot-8 transfer from McLennan College, Thornquist has hit .331 (56-for-169) with 10 doubles, one triple, 12 homers and 44 RBI.
