SAN ANTONIO — UTSA outfielder Trent Bowles played for the first time this season Friday in a 7-3 loss to UC Irvine.
Bowles, a Louisville Slugger All-American in 2015, had been out for the first eight games with an injury.
He produced one hit — a double — in a 1-for-4 outing in the opener of a three-game series in California against the Anteaters. Bowles started in left field.
UTSA (6-3) and UC Irvine (7-3) are scheduled to complete the non-conference series with a doubleheader on Saturday.
Men’s basketball: The Roadrunners will play their regular-season finale Saturday in El Paso against the UTEP Miners.
