SAN ANTONIO – Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) picked up a ranked singles win but No. 29 South Florida outlasted No. 54 UTSA men's tennis, 5-2 on Friday afternoon at the UTSA Tennis Center.
UTSA (10-6) couldn't overcome a double-point loss to South Florida (11-4) to open the match as the Bulls were able to claim key singles wins en route to the win.
Ceolin improved to 9-3 in singles with the win, topping No. 69 Jakub Wijcik, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Freshman Garrett Skelly (The Woodlands, Texas) improved to 6-1 with a 6-1, 7-6 win on court 6.
