UTSA announced the hire of assistant men’s basketball coach Shawn Forrest on Monday, giving the Roadrunners another new face on the bench next season.
Forrest spent the last three seasons at Western Kentucky, which lost to Old Dominion in this year’s Conference USA tournament semifinals. The Hilltoppers finished the season with an 18-16 record and were eighth in the CUSA standings.
UTSA has made minor splashes on the recruiting trail since it hired Steve Henson to take over for Brooks Thompson, but nabbing Forrest could arguably be Henson’s biggest coup so far.
