HUMBLE — J.J. Lindsey is tied for seventh and UTSA is tied for third place after the first round of the All-American Intercollegiate, which got underway on Friday at the Golf Club of Houston (par 72/7,096 yards).
Lindsey carded a 1-under-par 71 that featured four birdies, three on the front nine, in his opening round. The senior from Adkins is tied with six other players in the 90-man field four shots behind day-one leader Papito Gonzalez of Houston, who shot a 5-under 67.
Zander Lozano and Sean Meehan each turned in a 73 and they are part of a 12-way tie for 18th place.
