SAN ANTONIO — Is David Bailiff a serious candidate for the UTSA footall coaching job?
A television station in Houston is reporting that UTSA has asked for and received permission to speak with Bailiff, the head coach of the Rice Owls.
FOX 26 in Houston says Bailiff and UTSA have spoken at least once by phone.
Bailiff, a MacArthur High School graduate, did not immediately respond to telephone and text messages.
UTSA interviewed TCU assistant Curtis Luper on Sunday.
Other candidates reportedly are Houston co-defensive coordinator Craig Naivar, former Kentucky coach Hal Mumme and former Houston head coach Tony Levine.
