RUSTON, La. -- Louisiana Tech built an early margin with a hot start, pushing the Bulldogs to a 82-66 win over UTSA men's basketball, on Saturday night at the Thomas Assembly Center.
UTSA (5-8, 1-5 Conference USA) missed 14 of its first 15 shots to open the game and Louisiana Tech scored 17 of the first 20 points, building an early lead.
UTSA rallied to outscore LA Tech 31-22 over the remainder of the first half, cutting the lead to 39-34 at the break. The Bulldogs used a 7-0 run to build a double-digit lead in the opening seconds of the second half, holding UTSA at arm's length as the Roadrunners attempted a comeback.
