SAN ANTONIO — UTSA athletic director Lynn Hickey has asked an architect for a preliminary “schematic” design and cost estimate for a refurbished baseball facility at Roadrunner Field.
Hickey said she wants to see whether it’s feasible to build a 2,500-seat stadium around the current home field for the school’s baseball program.
“I’m hoping it’s $10 million or less, but I’m not for sure,” Hickey said. “We’ll just have to wait and see.”
Last fall, an athletics administrator floated an idea about UTSA becoming part of a proposed shared-use facility downtown with the San Antonio Missions.
