SAN ANTONIO – K.J. Kenneth-Nwosa, MD, has been named head team physician for UTSA Athletics and assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, also known as UT Health San Antonio. His appointments are effective Aug. 1, 2021.
In this new role, Dr. Kenneth-Nwosa will serve as the head team physician for all UTSA Athletics-sponsored sports programs, overseeing other sports medicine physicians, physician assistants, physical and occupational therapists, and athletic trainers and coordinating care with orthopaedic surgeons and other medical and surgical specialists. He also will assist UT Health San Antonio's Department of Orthopaedics in growing and supporting its burgeoning sports medicine program that will provide UTSA student-athletes with sports medicine, orthopaedics, imaging, physical therapy and other specialty services for preventive care as well as the treatment of a full range of sports-related injuries.
