SAN ANTONIO — UTSA is making “buyout” payments to former football coach Larry Coker.
Coker, who stepped down from his job on Jan. 5, confirmed the information in an interview with the Express-News.
The coach declined to specify the monetary amount he will receive, but payments apparently will add up to $1.56 million over the next three years.
“I had a buyout,” Coker said. “They had to pay me to make a change. Just whatever my contract said, that’s what they had to pay me. It was only fair. They knew that when they let me go.
