SAN ANTONIO —UTSA senior Maia Campbell will travel to Eugene, Ore., this week to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Oregon at Hayward Field.
Campbell earned a spot in the national meet with a top-12 finish in the women's shot put at the NCAA West Preliminary Round on May 27 in College Station. She will line up in the second of two flights of the final round, which is slated to begin at 7:40 p.m. Central time on Thursday.
Campbell is in line to become the first female Roadrunner to garner All-America honors in a throwing event as one of 24 competitors in the shot put after finishing 11th with a mark of 16.
