From the moment Katarina Zec arrived in El Paso from Belgrade, Serbia, this past summer, through a productive preseason with the UTEP women's basketball team and a start in the second game of the year, she made her move to America look easy.
She was the first member of the big freshman class to start a game, the first one to earn a regular starting spot, and while the team was facing adversity from the first tip, Zec appeared as though she personally was going to skate around it.
Instead, Zec (pronounced "Zets") reached another milestone: the first player on the team this season to get hurt.
