The landscape of football is shifting, and it's moving toward players like Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels.
True freshmen starting at quarterback for a bowl-quality team is still rare, but it's no longer out of the ordinary. Just as was the case in high school, Daniels is on pace to carve out a four-year era as the Sun Devils quarterback, one that will continue Tuesday in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl against Florida State.
Dual-threat quarterbacks have long had a place in college football, but with the NFL success of Baltimore's Lamar Jackson, runner/throwers like Daniels are the wave of the future.
