Holly Watts has been fired as head coach of the UTEP women’s volleyball team.
“While the hard work and dedication is unquestioned, the results on the court did not meet expectations under Holly’s leadership,” said UTEP Athletics Director Jim Senter in a press release. “We thank her for her service to UTEP and wish her well in the future.”
Over the course of her six years at the helm, Watts failed to produce a winning team, finishing with a subpar 48-127 record and the worst winning percentage in program history (.274).
The Miners only double-digit win season under Watts came in her first year in 2013 (14-16), with most the of roster mainstays being holdovers from the previous coaching staff.
