UTEP left guard Will Hernandez rose above his team's struggles, becoming the first player in school history to earn back-to-back Associated Press All-American honors when he was named to the second team Monday.
Hernandez, who was also second team last year, is one of six Miners to earn AP All-America honors. The other are Ed Bunn 1992, first team; Baron Wortham ‘93, second team; Brian Natkin ‘00, first team; Johnnie Lee Higgins ‘06, second team; Aaron Jones ‘16, third team.

Hernandez, who will play in the Reese's Senior Bowl next month and is expected to go in the first or second round of April's NFL draft.
