The UTEP men's basketball team suffered another jolt Sunday when starting guard Jordan Lathon entered the transfer portal.
Lathon entered the portal one day after the first guard off the bench, Nigel Hawkins, entered the transfer portal.
The sophomore two-year starter was averaging 27 minutes and 6.1 points per game and earlier this year hit the game winning shot against New Mexico.
A year ago, he started all 27 games and averaged 10.9 points per game and hit a game-winning, buzzer-beating 3-pointer against Rice that was the ESPN SportsCenter No. 2 play of the day.
