UTEP's men's basketball player Sjolund immediately eligible to play for Miners

A piece of the UTEP men's basketball team's puzzle fell into place when redshirt sophomore transfer Kristian Sjolund gained immediate eligibility for the 2020-21 season.

The 6-foot-8 forward who played at Georgia Tech last season and the NCAA waived the one-year sit-out rule.

“We’re excited that Kristian will be able to compete this year,” coach Rodney Terry said. “We expect him to immediately contribute to our team this season. He’s a guy who’s got size, and a pretty good athlete who can really shoot the basketball for his size. He’s a great kid who comes from a great family.
