UTEP junior golfer Valeria Mendizabal earned First Team All-Conference USA honors, the league office announced Wednesday.
Mendizabal was one of five golfers named to the first team after competing in all seven tournaments for UTEP in 2019-20. The native of Guatemala is the first Miner to earn first team accolades since Camino Sardinero in 2015.
Mendizabal led Conference USA in stroke average at 71.6 for 20 rounds. She was UTEP’s top golfer in six out of seven tournaments, including two first-place finishes.
