While the offense had more good moments than the defense in Sunday's scrimmage that ended UTEP's Camp Ruidoso, there was a big glimpse of a bright future in true freshman defensive end Keith Sullivan.
The 6-foot-7, 260-pound pass rusher got a sack, batted down a pass and twice drew holding penalties as he was coming free. He was the defensive player coach Sean Kugler singled out after the scrimmage.
"It was a bit slippery. I was just trying to free up and do my best to get to the quarterback, get the defense back in the scrimmage," Sullivan said.
