In the middle of a historic run, UTEP's Aaron Jones just made a little more history.
The junior from Burges, the Miners' all-time rushing leader and the nation's fourth-leading rusher this season, is one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, which goes to the NCAA's top running back.
"You know something special when you see it and he's special," coach Sean Kugler said after Tuesday's practice, about an hour before the list of semifinalists was announced. "All his teammates look up to him and one of the reasons is, besides being one of the best players, he's one of the toughest workers I've ever been around.
