For the second time in three seasons, the UTEP's Women's Basketball Team will host a WNIT home game Thursday night against Abilene Christian.
Abilene Christian posted a 26-3 overall record with a 17-1 conference mark this season, but did not participate in the Southland Conference Tournament due to their ongoing transition into D-1 athletics.
This is UTEP's second ever appearance in the WNIT, and fourth overall postseason birth as they were runners up in the 2014 WNIT losing to Rutgers in the final. UTEP is one of four Conference USA schools in the 2016 WNIT along with WKU, Charlotte, and Marshall
UTEP finished the year with a 26-4 overall record, and a 16-0 home record.
