Sparkle Taylor poured in 32 points, but it wasn’t nearly enough as she was the only Miner to score in double figures in a 76-69 loss to North Texas.
UTEP shot 40.4 percent from the floor in the game thanks to a strong start, but went 3-for-11 in the final quarter and also turned it over 16 total times to drop their fifth straight game.
The Miners started off hot, scoring 24 first quarter points en route to a 24-16 lead after the first ten minutes.
UTEP led 32-25 at the 7:34 mark of the second quarter, but North Texas closed the half on a 17-8 spurt to take a 42-40 halftime lead.
