The UTEP women's basketball team came out hot against Florida International on Friday evening. When the Miner defense caught up, UTEP rolled to a 76-64 win for its, eighth consecutive victory that marks it's longest winning streak in five years.
The names were a little different, the Miners were led by Isis Lopes with big contributions from Destiny Thurman, Avery Crouse and Elina Arike, but even that was typical of a hot stretch where everyone is contributing. UTEP got 31 points from its bench as nine players scored.
The Miners went to 10-3 in Conference USA, while a Panthers team that had won four of its previous five fell to 6-5.
