When the UTEP women's basketball team gets on a roll, like it did in the breakaway first half of a 72-62 victory against a good Northern Arizona team Saturday night, it can be joyful to watch.
The challenge is to string that together for four quarters, but the Miners can search for that with a 4-0 record.
In the commanding and complete first half, UTEP bolted to a 44-24 lead and held the Lumberjacks at arm's length the rest of the way.
The Miners' best player was their best player, Katia Gallegos, who was almost halfway to a triple double in the first half before finishing with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
