Faced with the most adversity they've seen this season, the UTEP women's basketball team offered a reminder of what can make it special.
Trailing Charlotte, one of Conference USA's elite teams, by six points in the fourth quarter and facing a sweep to end its regular season, the Miners fought back from the brink with a 14-point run that helped secure a 71-68 victory that is their biggest road win of the year.
UTEP's 13-5 record will likely leave it with a fifth seed in the C-USA tournament, but facing a character test the Miners passed in a big way against a 49er team that fell to 8-4.
