The UTEP women's basketball team entered Thursday's game against struggling North Texas desperately in need of a routine win.
In a 75-62 victory that snapped a two-game losing streak, they checked most of the boxes.
The Miners scored the first nine points and they answered a hiccup at the start of the second half with a 15-0 run. Destiny Thurman got back on track with a career night (30 points) and Erin Wilson also had a big game in her first start of the season in place of an injured Teal Battle.
UTEP forced turnovers with its press and took advantage of them.
