UTEP women fall in final seconds to North Texas, 67-65

The UTEP women's basketball team's late-game magic eluded it in a heartbreaking 67-65 loss at North Texas that dropped UTEP into a tie for third in Conference USA.

The Miners dropped to 10-6 in C-USA and 17-8 overall, and UNT improved to 7-9, 10-16 with the sweep of the Miners.

Down 66-65 in the final seconds after getting a defensive stop, Jazion Jackson's attempt at a game-winning 3-pointer was blocked by North Texas' Jordyn Carter with 2.1 seconds to go.

The Miners had taken a 65-64 lead with 1:30 remaining when Sabine Lipe made one of two free throws, but Carter hit what stood up as the game-winning shot with 1:11 remaining on a driving layup.
