The UTEP women's 70-51 loss to North Texas Thursday night featured a little of the familiar and a little of the new.
Once again, the Miners had to dig out of a slow start after falling behind 14-3 in the first three minutes, and while they joined the battle and were in striking distance much of the way, struggles with rebounding made a comeback too tall of an order.
North Texas, off to a 4-0 start in Conference USA play for the first time ever, beat the Miners 43-37 on the boards and led to a 14-5 Mean Green advantage in second-half points.
