The late game magic from the UTEP women's basketball team did not travel to Logan, Utah.
The Miners clawed out of a 14-point second-half deficit and into a late lead Sunday against Utah State, but fell in the final possessions 68-65. UTEP had a potential go-ahead 3-pointer with 9 seconds remaining and a potential tying 3-pointer at the buzzer but could not convert either.
UTEP fell to 3-1 in a season where every game has been decided on the final possession of regulation or overtime.
How it went
UTEP used an 11-0 run in the third quarter to erase much of a 14-point lead and a 6-0 run in the fourth quarter to erase the rest of it, then went ahead 64-63 lead with 44 seconds left on Tatyana Modawar's first 3-pointer of the season.
