LAS CRUCES - For the second time against a rival school, the New Mexico State women’s basketball team held a lead going into the fourth quarter.
And for the second time, the Aggies (3-5) could not hold the lead, this time losing 82-78 in overtime to UTEP on Wednesday at the Pan American Center.
How it happened
On Wednesday, the Aggies led rival UTEP (7-1) by eight entering the fourth in the second Battle of I-10 rivalry game of the season. They led their Dec. 5 home loss to New Mexico by nine.
The Aggies were 3 for 10 in the fourth quarter and UTEP made 10 of 14 at the foul line in the fourth, finishing the game shooting 35 of 46 (76 percent) from the foul line.
