The New Mexico State Aggies held off UTEP, 62-58, on Wednesday night at the Don Haskins Center.
The Aggies (4-1) earned a sweep of UTEP (2-4) in the process. Earlier this season, the Aggies beat UTEP 96-69, in Las Cruces.
UTEP trailed 28-26 at the half. The Aggies used a 13-0 run in the second half to go up by double digits before the Miners came back to make it a game in the final minutes.
Evan Gilyard led the Miners with 18 points, while Efie Odigie scored 12. NMSU's Terrell Brown made a key late basket and hit two big free throws to lift the Aggies to the win.
