UTEP’s greatest-ever volleyball season just got better.
The Miners completed their march through the regional rounds of the NIVC volleyball tournament, beating host Colorado State 25-22, 12-25, 25-18, 25-19 Friday night in the second round.
UTEP earned a third-round quarterfinal game with either Weber State at a time and place to be set late Sunday. That match will be Tuesday or Wednesday and UTEP could potentially host it. Should the Miners win they could also bid to host a semifinal over the weekend.
A day after beating Tulsa in their first postseason match, the Miners improved to 23-7.
