The UTEP Miners (3-3, 1-1) volleyball team got revenge on the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Blazers (4-3, 3-1) with a three-set sweep (25-23, 25-18, 25-21) Monday afternoon. On Sunday, the Miners fell in five sets to these same Blazers after not being able to practice for over a week due to COVID-19 quarantine precautions.
The Miners started slow in set one as UAB jumped out to a 10-3 early lead Sunday. As the set went on, the Miners clawed back with a Cheyenne Jones kill on a set up by junior Hula Christostomo that brought the team within four points.
