UTEP track star and collegiate NCAA 800-meter record holder Michael Saruni is giving up his final two years of eligibility to pursue a professional career.
Saruni, who would have been a junior this year, follows fellow Kenyan and training mate Emmanuel Korir, who signed with Nike prior to this season and has been the world's dominant 800 runner since.

Korir still attends UTEP and he and Saruni still train with Miner distance coach Paul Ereng.
